Here’s my 2021 highlights from weddings and family Photography around Yorkshire
To all those bride, grooms and the families
To everyone that stood in front of my lens throughout 2021, kept me as your wedding and family photographer during uncertain times, thanks so much! I’m so glad I got to capture your special moments and tell your story.
Grab and brew or a glass or fizz. I’ve narrowed it down as far as possible, but there still a few photos to check out.
Planning a wedding in a pandemic
#loveisnotcancelled. Planning a wedding comes with its own challenges that are different for each couple. But they all had one thing in common during 2021, planning a wedding during a global pandemic. I’ve really felt for them. It’s not just the obvious stress and anxiety caused, I know it took away a lot of the excitement in the lead up and caused planned stag do and hen parties to be cancelled. It’s amazing how adaptable we can all be though and I give a big shout out everyone in the wedding industry that have gone above and beyond to try and make weddings as normal, safe and easy as possible for each couple. Every wedding I attended was special and so memorable even if it was completely different to planned.
Wedding Photography during Covid
I managed to move every single wedding without charging extra to avoid any further stress. My first big wedding back was a little scary to shoot. I hadn’t been around groups of people for a significant amount of time, so squeezing through crowds of 150 people was a bit of a shock to the system. The sleepless nights of worrying that I might not be able to get through wedding season if I caught Covid or got the dreaded pinged, was very real! I’m lucky to have photographer buddies who would step in for me if that was to happened (and I would just resort to beans on toast for tea for the rest of the year)
Being a Yorkshire Wedding and Family Photographer
If you know me at all, you’ll know I absolutely LOVE my job. Weddings have meant more to me during 2021 than ever before. Being absent from them for long made me see them with fresh eyes all over again. It was so wonderful watching people hug and really laugh while bumping into each over on the dancefloor. You could really see the need to celebrate and I didn’t even mind hearing Ed Sheeran on the dancefloor (well that might be a bit of a stretch) I’ve worked at some beautiful Yorkshire wedding venues, revisiting many like the Devonshire Fell Hotel, the Coniston Hotel in Skipton and the Gamekeeper’s Inn in Threshfield. Shooting for the first time at Bolton Abbey’s most sought after wedding venue, the Tithe Barn, and Browsholme Hall in Clitheroe. My new favourite wedding venue has to be the Falcon Manor in Settle. I’ve photographed snowy weddings, hot summer weddings, simple wedding ceremonies and outdoor weddings. I’ve loved each and every one. I’ve had larger family photo shoots during 2021 than ever before. Families getting together after so long apart and marking the occasion with a photo shoot. I’ve met families on staycation for photo shoots in the Dales and people celebration birthdays and anniversaries. It really has been wonderful.
Getting married in 2022 2023 or considering a Family Photo Shoot
If you like natural photography and not into cheesy poses or pouting, we’re a good fit. I tend to attract bride and grooms that like photography but are a little camera shy. My family photography is very candid with little posed photos. I provide wedding and family photography throughout Yorkshire but quite willing to travel further. If you’re interested say hello
If you’ve made it through any of that babbling, well done. Now here’s the good bit. My 2021 wedding and family photography highlights. Feel free to leave a comment at the bottom
