Just like that we are in a new decade. 2020 brides this is your time! But before I jump back into shooting with an engagement shoot this weekend, I want to round up my favourite wedding photography and family lifestyle photos of 2019.
I absolutely love being a family and wedding photographer. It truly is an honour to be invited into the lives of people that put their trust in me to capture moments that are precious and significant. I get to join in and share these moments while doing something I love - documenting their story. I get to travel to some beautiful places in and around Yorkshire, like the Spicer Manor House. I was luckily enough to return to some wonderful wedding venues, such as the National Trust’s East Riddlesden Hall while shooting for the first time at new venues, like the Otley Chevin Hotel. This year I’m super excited to be shooting a wedding at the Tythe Barn (there’s a lot of buzz around that place) and returning to Coniston Hotel in Skipton
Over the years, I’ve realised the majority of my clients see the importance of lifestyle and wedding photography but are close to dreading being in front of a camera. This is why I have such a relaxed approach and implement my documentary photography style. My aim is to show personality and realness. You don’t get that with instructions of awkward poses. My job isn’t just to provide beautiful wedding photography and sweet family photos. It’s to help people find enjoyment in an experience that is out of their normal comfort zone. It’s so important in order to provide memories of their wedding day and family moments together.
I want to thank each and every person that stood in front of my camera - all the fantastic families, gorgeous married couple, crying babies, waggy dogs, proud parents, giggling bridesmaids and tipsy grooms men. You make my job awesome! (and if any of you wish to leave a review, you’d make my day)
Each wedding and lifestyle session will be blogged this year - so make sure you subscribe so you don’t miss yours.
A big thank you to Joanne Lawrence Photography for second shooting and capturing the only working photo of me this year and Laura Calderwood Photography for having me along to shoot a lovely if not slightly soggy wedding with her (confetti shot above)

Thank you to the engaged couples that have already booked for their 2020 wedding and 2021 wedding. Bring it on!
